How do I find the amp hour rating of my battery?

  2. Laura says:

    Hi Mari,
Most deep cycle ba tteries in the 55-69lb range that are 12 volts are usually rated in 24, 27 or 31 group sizes. If you own one of these batteries use the following chart:

    Group 24 – 80 amps
    Group 27 – 100 amps
    Group 31 – 105 amps

Sometimes it is displayed on your battery. If you are using a standard car battery, it is typically 40-60 amps depending on the battery. Again, these are just approximates. Each battery on the market is different. The bigger the load on your battery, the faster the rate of discharge.
